It's unbelievably gorgeous here this morning, with about 6 inches of new powdered snow and more coming! I shoveled a little path from my back door to the edge of the porch and have been throwing the frisbee for the dogs, they love it! Right now, the sun is out, making it even more beautiful.
Meanwhile, in nearby Fernley, all is not so calm. Up to 3800 residents have been affected by a break in a levee on the Truckee river. Early this morning, it broke, putting hundreds of homes under three feet of water. Helicopters have been brought in to pluck residents from rooftops.
I've been watching and listening to news accounts of what's happening in California, and hope that all of you down there are safe and warm. That's a lot of rain!!

That is really pretty. I like looking at it more then shoveling it though...haha.
It is pretty, isn't it? We're now getting the second wave of snow...kids out playing in it, building snowmen...
