Birthdays and Earthquakes.

April is going down as the busiest month for birthdays. On the 24th, Jarrett and Johnny were 12...the following day Baby Jane made her debut, and the next day Devyn and Chelsea added another year....I have to get a new calendar with bigger boxes. Happy Birthday to all of you!!

The earth's been doing it's trembling thing here for the past week. You've probably all heard that on Friday (I think it was), there was a 4.5 centered just West of Reno. It toppled cans off shelves, cracked some foundations, and jangled a lot of nerves in the Northwest part of town. Out here in Dayton, I haven't felt a thing...although Wendy felt one of them. John said he felt the 4.1 this morning at 4:30 in Reno.

The radio has been broadcasting an update almost every hour..there have been hundreds of small aftershocks starting back in March. Some people in the Mogul area west of town have temporarily moved from their homes, hoping that things will calm down. There have been the usual and expected warnings from the "experts" about the possibility of a larger one looming. People are being urged to stock up on necessities and develop a plan of action should that happen...never hurts to be prepared.

I love Spring, earthquakes or no. All the trees are blossoming now and the weather's perfect. Windows all open...no need for AC...lovely warm days and nice cool nights. The wind has been pretty relentless the last couple of weeks....had to replace part of my garage roof, but that seems behind us, for now...in Nevada you just never know.

I never tire of looking at the pictures and videos you all post...what a great thing that is for large families. The great-grandkids number is expanding...11 now, and will be 14 by the end of the year! You're a busy busy bunch! :) Later...

I love Spring too, especially in Reno & Dayton. Here it is OK but not as nice as the Fall. It's been really windy here too. The Earthquake thing is crazy. They even said on the news in Vegas that everyone should be prepared for an earthquake, which I think is really odd.

I Love You

The comments on the quakes have been all over the place....some experts saying this, and another one refuting what the last one said. They're all just making educated guesses. Love you too....wish you were here to share Spring...
